Girl Scouts of Eastern SC offer Programs and Workshops through Charleston County Parks
PROGRAMS LISTED BELOW ARE TO BE REGISTERED FOR THROUGH THE OFFICES OF THE GIRLS SCOUTS OF EASTERN SC.

If your troop cannot attend these programs, set up a custom program by calling the Charleston County Parks Interpretive Programs Coordinator at 843-889-8898.


Beginning Bird Watching
April 5, 2008, 9am-10am (ages 8-11) and 1pm-2:30pm (ages 11-17);
Caw Caw Interpretive Center
$5 per person; min/max participants 8/20
This program is for the person who appreciates birds & would like to know more about them. Learn about common birds & how to identify them. Binoculars & field guides are provided.

Fire from Friction
April 5, 2008, 10am-12:30pm (ages 8-11); Caw Caw Interpretive Center;
$10 per person; min/max participants 6/15
Forget the matches! We can find all we need to start a fire just by walking outside. We'll explore the different types of wood used & where to look for them. Then we'll try to make some smoke & fire! Each participant will take home a fire starting kit.

Seining the Sea
May 17, 2008, 12pm-1pm (ages 6-8); Isle of Palms County Park;
$7.50 per person; min/max participants 6/20
Gain a new perspective on creatures of the surf zone. Anchovy, pompano, kingfish, stingray, crabs, & even a squid have shown up in our net. Come out & meet some of your wave-bound neighbors. Help us pull a seine net in the surf & then discuss what we find.
